Working on our Craft and Supporting Each Other

Why must it always be a toolbox? Why not an ArtBin? I have always wondered why it must be a toolbox when talking about our skills. My ArtBin has a lot of the same tools that my toolbox holds, with the added joy of paint, pastels, and other art supplies. Below you will find what I carry in my ArtBin.

Dare to Dream with Dementia

There is great sorrow on the dementia journey. This I will never deny, but what if we allowed ourselves to dream and to live in joy. Joy is not the opposite of sorrow. They are woven together. My work is a living invitation to live in the balance of that deep sorrow and the moments of possibility.

Steps on the Journey

Throughout my 24 years accompanying those living with dementia, I have built up a collection of stories, experiences, a reflections on what it means to live fully alive with dementia. These reflections are shared her on the blog. I post one blog post a month, with the occasional bonus post.

I don’t take guest posts for this blog.

Hot Chocolate Moment

We all need a Hot Chocolate Moment.

It is no secret I have a weakness for hot chocolate. It is still my hot beverage of choice, long after my peers switched to a daily coffee habit. So what does hot chocolate have to do with dementia? Everything and nothing at all.

Life is made up of Moments. Dementia does not change this; these moments become more important. They are moments of joy, sorrow, care, and faith. So make some hot chocolate in your favorite mug, sit down, breathe, and savor the moment.
