Dear Dementia,
I don’t have much to say today. It was a travel day for me today after a week long conference on aging. Seeing and speaking with so many people walking this care journey with you makes me wonder how we approach education and what I can do to make a stronger impact. So many educators approach the topic from the lens of the academic or are they themselves chasing certifications and degrees. I have never looked at dementia education this way, and maybe I need to do more to invite others into new ways to look at education within the circles I work.
I feel the weight of the regulations that healthcare workers feel. I see the challenges in the gap between mandatory education and the work done each day in care. Might we work together?
